What goes into a well thought out photo session?

Wearing the right outfits can be the difference between good and AMAZING photos. Depending on the location of the session and the vibe, I will help assist you with the best colors/attire to wear to give your session the right feels and drama you will love in your session.
Location
I will help assist with the location planning, unless of course you have somewhere specific you'd like to go or would like to stay at home!
I have plenty of scouted areas in the St. Joseph area and the outskirts/surrounding areas that I love using. Most locations are secluded so you can ensure this will be a session without an audience, unless you of course prefer a busy city scenery, which is absolutely okay too! :D
Within 48 hours of booking, you will receive a detailed questionnaire which will help me get to know your family a bit and will help in my brainstorming of a location if needed. Leave it to me if you'd like!
Session Experience {With an Experienced Photographer}
Your session will be full of movement and interaction. There may be times that call for snuggles and silence, which create those beautiful still moments.
At times, I will give little activities to do that are meant to create connection and laughter and other times I will step back and let you naturally interact, explore, or play but will give gentle directions when needed. Expect to not look at the camera for the majority of your session and to not direct your kids to do so. The best images come from families enjoying their time together and not worrying about the camera.
With 13 years experience, it's safe to say, you are in good hands! Come as you are, interact and love on your loved ones and trust the process. : )
RETAINER
Each session requires $175 retainer to book session. This fee comes off of your total balance.
This ensures no-one else can book your date and covers all communication and planning on my end.

FAMILIES.
My main goal during your session is to capture authentic moments. The key to making that happen? BEING YOURSELVES
Letting go of perfection, allowing the kids to be kids and just be in the moment.
Goodbye stiff smiles, matching outfits and the perfect pose. Let's create genuine connections.
These can be at the most gorgeous time of day sunset, early morning risers at sunrise, or even in the comfort of your own home!

DAY-IN-THE-LIFE.
Let's press pause on your family with this 2.5-hour documentary session. This can be just a lazy day at home, visiting all of your favorite local spots or documenting a family event. I will assist with planning your day to ensure it goes as smooth as possible.
Sessions are documentary style which means very minimal direction. Just real moments and no pressure. Think of me as a fly on the wall.
Eloping or a small wedding? This package is also for you.

MATERNITY.
Choose to make this session family style, with just your significant other or by yourself to celebrate the new life you are creating!
We will work together to plan what the attire will be, the location and create beautiful heartfelt memories of this time in your life. If you'd rather be cozy and at home, I can come to you.

NEWBORNS.
{at home or outdoors}
Snuggle up with your sweet baby in your home and/or out in nature. We can capture memories in the babies beautiful nursery you worked hard decorating, or relaxing in the grass with the sun setting behind you. Sessions are lifestyle, baby-led sessions. Which means gentle directions and natural baby posing rather than using props and complicated unnatural poses. My focus will be on your connections and babies little details.

COUPLES.
Engagement. Intimate. Just Because.
Let's capture your love story the way you want it to be remembered. This can be adventurous or as laid back/intimate as you'd prefer. We will discuss and plan details of what you would like to be remembered about your story together.

SENIORS.
Senior Sessions can include 1 location or up to 3 different locations. If your senior wants all of the outfit changes for variety, bring them. We will plan session from start to end so there's no stress the day of!
